Thanksgiving Day Football Games 2018
Thanksgiving is right around the corner. That means time with family and friends, great food, and a day packed with football! This year features three great matchups with huge playoff implications for most of the teams involved. Let’s take a closer look at the three great games we will be treated to on Thanksgiving.
Bears at Lions (9:30AM PT, CBS)
The first game of the day is an NFC North matchup where the Chicago Bears travel to Detroit to matchup against the Lions. This game has major playoff implications for the Bears. If the Bears cannot beat the Minnesota Vikings this Sunday night and do not handle their business against the Lions on Thanksgiving, they could likely lose their grip on first place in the NFC North to the Vikings or rival Green Bay Packers.
Redskins at Cowboys (1:30PM PT, FOX)
The second matchup of the day is a battle of two teams fighting for the NFC East division title. The first-place Washington Redskins travel to take on the surging Dallas Cowboys. The NFC East is currently a three-team race between the Redskins, Cowboys, and Philadelphia Eagles all still in contention for the playoffs. The winning team on Thanksgiving may be able to put themselves in the driver’s seat in the division.
Falcons at Saints (5:20PM PT, NBC)
The final game of the night is another matchup between two division rivals as the Atlanta Falcons travel to New Orleans to take on the red-hot Saints. The Saints currently lead the NFC South over the Carolina Panthers and Falcons, but all three of these teams are still in contention for a spot in the playoffs. Due to this, the results of this game could have a huge impact on the entire NFC playoff picture.
